Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue at the 95th Academy Awards was something that grabbed the attention of the internet and it is on the headlines once again.

Rihanna’s friends have recently expressed their dissatisfaction towards the monologue and specifically because her name was mentioned in the monologue.

The reason behind the criticism was because Kimmel wrongly spelled her name and while he was delivering the monologue, he kept saying her name as Rih-Ann-uh.

But the singer’s fans believe that this is not the way to spell her name and they even took to Twitter to express their frustration towards the same.

Still it seems like Kimmel was not wrong in his pronunciation as one of the users said that he pronounced the name like he is from Nigeria.

One of the users also asked everyone to listen properly to his pronunciation and also according to New York Post, Rihanna clarified that her name is pronounced ‘Rih-Ann-Uh.’

Rihanna performed her single Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at the event yesterday and the event also marked her first Oscar nomination in the category of the Best Original Song.

However, she lost the award to Naatu Naatu from RRR but she was still praised for her performance which was a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.
