The Dark Half is about a writer named Thad Beaumont who finds a series of murders related to his novels. But he finds that the murderer is some kind of evil named George Stark.

Gerald’s Game takes the reader into the mind of a wife named Jessie. She is handcuffed to her bed in a remote cabin following her husband’s death.

Misery is about an author named Paul Sheldon. While he plans to end his career with his last book, he discovers himself at the mercy of a terrifying fan named Annie Wilkes after a car accident.

Revival is about two characters – Charles Jacobs and Jamie Morton. They meet when the latter was a child and the former was a youth minister. Charles becomes a traveling revival minister and Jamie changes to a drug addict.

The Stand is the best on this list. The main plot is about a flu-like disease called Captain Trips, which has led to the death of millions of people.

Bag of Bones is about a writer named Mike Noonan. He returns to his vacation home and tries to find a way to move on after his wife’s death.

Carrie is about a shy young girl named Carrie White who has been struggling with problems coming during puberty. This eventually takes a horrific turn at one point.

Cujo was about a dog, who is man’s best friend. The main animal was a St. Bernard and things take a horrific turn when he is infected with rabies.

Black House is a sequel to The Talisman, Black House and it delves deeper into the horror roots of the original story. It is linked to Stephen King’s Dark Tower series.

Pet Sematary is about a doctor and his family moving to a new house. But the house is located close to the highway and near an ancient burial ground where local children have buried their pets.

Desperation is the most unique in this list. It has a companion novel written by King’s alter ego, Richard Bachman and it is named The Regulators.
