Matthew Perry Erases Keanu Reeves’ Name From His Memoir After Backlash

Matthew Perry has revealed that digs towards Keanu Reeves would be removed from future editions of his best-selling memoir.
Perry’s autobiography called ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’ was released last year. It featured repeated jokes at Reeves’ expense.
Perry questioned twice why other actors die while Reeves is still alive. Perry also commented on River Phoenix’s death, a close friend of Reeves.
Matthew wrote in the book, ‘Why is it that the original thinks like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?’
Perry made a similar reference to Reeves while discussing Chris Farley, who passed away in 1997 from an overdose.
While appearing at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on April 22, 2023, Perry said that whatever he said was very ‘stupid.’
Perry mentioned that he pulled Keanu’s name because he lives on the same street. He added that his book’s future versions will not feature Keanu’s name.
Perry stated that he never had the chance to apologize to Reeves. He continued and said that if he ever meets Reeves, he will apologize.
