Russia Claims Ukraine Tried To Assassinate Putin With Drone Strike

Russia claimed on Wednesday that Ukraine attempted to assassinate President Vladimir Putin in a drone attack on the Kremlin.

Kyiv clarified that it was not associated with the reported incident. Kyiv suggested this can be a pretext for a new attack inside Ukraine.

The accusation was made without any evidence and a video featuring an object exploding over Kremlin went viral on social media.

An attack inside Moscow will represent a dramatic illustration of Russian vulnerability before the expected Ukrainian counteroffensive that would try to push the Kremlin’s forces out of the land.

Russian military and special services also disabled two drones, sending debris to the grounds of the seat of government.

A statement by Kremlin mentioned that the actions are considered to be a planned terrorist attack and an assassination attempt targeting the President.

Adviser to President, Mykhalio Podolyak, denied any involvement of Ukraine in the same and suggested that guerilla activities of local resistance forces should be blamed for the same.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s press officer Serhiy Nikiforov spoke to the local media saying that Kyiv has no knowledge about the night attacks.
