The Woman Who Inspired Pixar's Mama Coco

Marìa Caballero, who had resemblance to Mama Coco in Pixar's 'Coco' is no more. She died at the age of 109 in Michoacán, Western Mexico.

The Secretary Of Tourism in Michoacán confirmed the news via Twitter calling her 'a tireless woman' and a 'role model' who inspired a beloved character.

The beloved character he was talking about was that of Mama Coco from Oscar-winning film 'Coco'. 

Coco followed the story of a 12-year-old Miguel, who aspires to become a musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. However, the rituals of Dia de los muertos turns the young boys fate.

It was reported that Caballero inspired the character when the team went for a reckee in Mexico. The family also claims that the Pixar team came to town and lived with them.

However, the director denied any inspiration from Maria squashing the rumors.
