Kate Winslet became a global star literally overnight thanks to her performance in ‘Titanic‘. However, there were people who weren’t happy with its ending and hence body-shamed her.
Winslet slammed the toxic fans who blamed her weight for Jack’s death. “Apparently I was too fat,” she said.
“Why were they so mean to me? They were so mean. I wasn’t even fucking fat,” she continued.
She said that would have told the journalists that her body is changing and she is figuring it out.
“I’m deeply insecure, I’m terrified, don’t make this any harder than it already is.’ That’s bullying, you know, and actually borderline abusive, I would say,” Winslet said.
Throughout her career, Winslet has been body-shamed by people. In an earlier interview, she was told to settle for “fat girl” parts in acting school.
The debate over if Jack would have survived ‘Titanic‘ has been going on for years. Director James Cameron has put an end to this debate by scientifically explaining Jack’s death.
We have done a scientific study to put this whole thing to rest and drive a stake through its heart once and for all,” Cameron said. He said that they have done a “thorough forensic analysis with a hypothermia expert” over the scene.
