After the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September 2022, her son Charles III is preparing to ascend the throne of the United Kingdom and the commonwealth realms.
The coronation will host a concert at Windsor Castle, light show, street parties, traditional procession, and volunteering for community service.
The agenda released by the Palace reveals that 8 May will a bank holiday in the UK. The coronation will take place at the Westminster Abbey. It will be followed by the 1000 years old pagentry tradition.
Then the King and the Queen consort will greet the public with other family member from the balcony of the Buckingham Place. The concert will be held on 7 May where an orchestra will be performed by a special coronation choir.
The Palace announcement read that the choir will be, “created from the nation’s keenest community choirs and amateur singers from across the United Kingdom, such as Refugee choirs, NHS choirs, LGBTQ+ singing groups, and deaf signing choirs”
On 7 May, King Charles and the rest of the family will be tended to a Coronation Big Lunch. and the following day will be dedicated to ‘The Big Help Out’ where people can volunteer to help out in the local areas.
