James Gunn Announces 'Joker' and 'The Batman' as DC Elsewhere Projects

James Gunn And Peter Safran recently presented their brand-new DCU slate at a gigantic press event.

Despite the massive overhaul, the duo has kept the upcoming ' Joker ' and ' The Batman ' sequels in their plans.

Titled ' DC Elsewhere ,' these projects will parallelly co-exist with other DC movies and television series.

' Joker ' and ' The Batman ' sequels are the first of many ' DC Elsewhere ' projects in the pipeline.

While several comic book characters debut under the new DCU, ' Joker ' and ' The Batman ' remains the franchise's lifeline.

James Gunn has also insisted on separate labeling for more non-DCU projects in the future.

Currently in the writing phase, ' The Batman Part II ' has a theatrical release date of October 3, 2025.

Directed by Todd Philips, ' Joker: Folie a Deux ' will release on October 4, 2024.
