James Gunn And Peter Safran recently presented their brand-new DCU slate at a gigantic press event.
Despite the massive overhaul, the duo has kept the upcoming 'Joker' and 'The Batman' sequels in their plans.
Titled 'DC Elsewhere,' these projects will parallelly co-exist with other DC movies and television series.
'Joker' and 'The Batman' sequels are the first of many 'DC Elsewhere' projects in the pipeline.
While several comic book characters debut under the new DCU, 'Joker' and 'The Batman' remains the franchise's lifeline.
James Gunn has also insisted on separate labeling for more non-DCU projects in the future.
Currently in the writing phase, 'The Batman Part II' has a theatrical release date of October 3, 2025.
Directed by Todd Philips, 'Joker: Folie a Deux' will release on October 4, 2024.
