On his HBO show ‘Real Time‘, Bill Maher recently touched on one of society’s third rails. In his “New Rules” commentary at the end of the show, he tackles the emergence of the LGBTQ community. Bill wonders if people should be permitted to inquire about the trend and its development, citing polls that show an exponential increase in persons who identify as LGBTQ.
Adults used to ask children what they wanted to be when they grew up not long ago. Maher jokes that obviously it was about the profession but now parents also need to ask them about their child’s gender choices as well.

Bill Maher Finds It Okay To Ask Questions About New Things
He cited a recent ACLU report claiming that the abortion rights debate impacts LGBTQ persons more than so-called Breeders. While he agreed that everyone should constantly be cognizant of honoring and safeguarding others, he also stated that not everything is about them. Bill also believes that asking questions about anything new is acceptable. He subsequently moved on to the practice of giving hormone blockers to young children.
“We’re literally experimenting on children. we don’t know about the long-term effects of that but logic tells you there’s going to be problems. It’s not a lifestyle decision”
Bill shares his concerns over the effects of hormone blockers on the child’s health.
According to Maher, the Grand Marshalls for the forthcoming Pride march in New York will not be gay males. According to Bill, this is where we are standing right now. Gay guys aren’t cool enough for a Gay Pride march, according to what’s going on with the parade. He went on to say that LGBT is nearly CIS, and Mormon is practically CIS. He sought to argue that surveys showing an increase in the LGBTQ population are fashionable, claiming that teenagers understand that ‘The Prime Directive’ is anything that would shock and confront the squares who brought them up.

Maher Thinks Parents Should Not Support Hormone Blockers
Maher believes that the great majority of parents are concerned about this. He also believes that determining if something is real or merely a phase is difficult. Respectfully, Bill acknowledges that being trans is unique. However, according to Bill, children go through periods. There are several periods, such as the dinosaur phase, and the Hello Kitty phase, the phase when they want to be an astronaut one day and refuse to leave their room the next.
Bill claims that children are open-minded about anything. He jokes that if children knew what they wanted to be when they were eight years old, then the world would be overrun with cowboys and princesses.
