Deadpool 3 To Start Soon As New Director Onboards The Project

There is good news for all the fans who have been long waiting for any news for Deadpool 3. Shawn Levy has been picked as its director, per the Hollywood Reporter. Shawn Levy is the filmmaker of Free Guy and The Adam Project. Levy had shown interest in tackling the Merc with a Mouth next. The movie will feature Ryan Reynolds.

Ryan Reynolds And The Deadpool Are A Perfect Mix

“The third picture in my Shawn Levy trilogy will be a tad more stabby.” Reynolds tweeted in response to the news.

The Green Lantern actor originally appeared as Marvel Comic’s anti-hero Wade Wilson/Deadpool in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was in controversy because of the drastically changed version of the character. Reynolds had the opportunity to play a more comic-accurate Wade Wilson in Tim Miller’s 2016 film Deadpool. Reynolds later reprised the character in David Leitch’s Deadpool 2 released in 2018.

Successful Deadpool And Deadpool 2 Lead To A Third Installment

Deadpool 2 and Deadpool are indeed the highest-grossing pictures of Fox’s 13-film X-Men franchise. With $785 million and $782.6 million in worldwide box office receipts, respectively. Deadpool released in 2016 also established the milestone for the highest-grossing R-rated movie in history. This record was later beaten by Deadpool 2 in 2018. (In 2019, Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC flick Joker broke the record set by Deadpool 2.)

What Is Going On Between Marvel And Deadpool Future Collaboration?

Due to the Walt Disney Company’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox, X-Men characters previously associated with Fox can now feature in the Marvel Universe. It includes Deadpool. Marvel Studios does not normally handle R-rated films. Thus for a while, it was unclear if the “Merc with a Mouth” will receive the third picture under the Disney label. Despite this, a third Deadpool picture starring Reynolds is in the work. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that it will be a part of the Universe, R-rating, and all.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick created the script for Deadpool. The trio will return to write Deadpool 2 alongside Reynolds. Reese and Wernick are currently working on Deadpool 3, according to THR. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin of Bob’s Burgers fame were previously working on the threequel. Reynolds will undoubtedly return in Deadpool 3. Though it is yet to be seen whether any of his Fox co-stars will also return. There is no set date for the release of Deadpool 3.
