Tesla Chief Elon Musk has shaded the Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg for his control over social media. Elon Musk is eyeing to claim his rule over one of the biggest social media platforms, Twitter. And amidst those discussions, Musk has now voiced his not-so-subtle opinion over Zuckerberg and his rights over most parts of social media.
Elon Musk Voices His Disapproval Of Mark Zuckerberg
Owning major platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg undoubtedly homes undivided rights over social media. However, Elon Musk apparently isn’t a fan of this trend where Meta by Zuckerberg acts as the parent company of these platforms. Musk, who is going all out to buy Twitter recently dissed Zuckerberg during a Ted Talk in Vancouver.
“As for media sort of ownership, I mean, you’ve got Mark Zuckerberg owning Facebook and Instagram and WhatsApp, and with a share ownership structure that will have Mark Zuckerberg XIV still controlling those entities,” said Musk. Musk apparently compared Zuckerberg to King Louis XIV of France, a monarchist with vast control over wealth and power.
However, the Twitter board isn’t on board with Musk’s offer and is processing against it. Moreover, recent reports suggest that Musk’s previous statements where he mocked gender pronouns and spread misinformation on Covid-19 will act against him in this process. Furthermore, Tesla has multiple lawsuits filed against it for racial discrimination and sexual harassment.
“Musk taking over Twitter would be a nightmare for many employees that have worked under the [former Twitter CEO] Dorsey and Twitter regime,” said Daniel Ives, a managing director, and senior equity research analyst at financial services firm Wedbush Securities.
