The Fantastic Beasts franchise has proved to be the perfect addition to the Wizarding World over the years. The latest addition to the franchise is the upcoming Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore. The film recently held its premiere in London this Tuesday. The premier, in turn, was attended by the star cast Jude Law, Eddie Redmayne, William Nadylam, Jessica Williams, Mads Mikkelsen, Victoria Yeates, and director David Yates. Moreover, Draco Malfoy actor Tom Felton turned into a host for the event.
New Gellert Grindelwald, Mads Mikkelsen Talks About Being A Great Dark Wizard
Mads Mikkelsen is the new addition to the franchise after Johny Depp’s controversial departure from it. Consequently, Mikkelsen has now taken over the role of antagonist Gellert Grindelwald in the film. Recently, at the premiere of the film, Mikkelsen shared the secrets of being a great dark wizard in the wizarding world first set up by JK Rowling. The host for the event, Tom Felton asked Mads to spill his secrets of being the perfect villain.
Felton started by asking Mikkelsen about his reception in the Wizarding World. “How does it feel to be welcomed into the Wizarding World with such open arms?” Mads answered and gushed over the fact that how it feels like one big family. “It’s overwhelming,” he noted. “It’s a family and I can tell that all the fans are family.” “I’m new in the family so I hope they adopt me, so I’m crossing my fingers,” he added.
Moving on, Felton asked Mikkelsen, “What is the secret to being a great on-screen villain, especially in the Wizarding World?” Mikkelsen, in turn, answered jokingly, “First, you have to have a Danish accent, that works.” He then added, “Secondly, you gotta have a mission that people can relate to. In this case, he wants to make the world a better place.” He continued, “Everybody can relate to that, right?” Felton concluded the interaction by wishing him to enjoy his venture into the Wizarding World.
In another Video, Mikkelsen can be seen answering some of the questions about his character in the movie.
Recent Controversy For The Upcoming Film
The film recently got dragged into a controversy as one of the actors Ezra Miller was arrested. Miller plays Credence Barebone in the film, and rumors have it that he homes the real identity of Aurelius Dumbledore. However, Miller’s arrest was for disorderly conduct at a bar in Hawaii. Ezra yelled obscenities following an altercation at the bar, which led to police filing harassment charges against him. The actor had to pay a bond of $500 for his release. Consequently, Miller missed the London premiere of his film.
However, another surprising presence at the premiere was J.K. Rowling. The author’s presence at the premiere was a surprise, given she missed the much-anticipated Harry Potter reunion that happened on New Year. Rowling has faced backlash over her transphobic comments on social media. Most of the Harry Potter cast including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson slammed her comments. Moreover, Watson recently shaded the author at the BAFTA Awards.
