Hilary Duff is beginning to talk about her 2003 Vanity Fair picture shoot after two decades. In certain ways, yes. She opened up about the photoshoot that included her along with Amanda Bynes, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Mandy Moore, Alexis Bledel, Raven Symone, Evan Rachel Wood, and Lindsay Lohan. She said it was “difficult” and she was not very comfortable in the entire shoot duration.
The 34-year-old actress reflected on her “It’s Totally Raining Teens” cover alongside Amanda Bynes, Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Mandy Moore, Alexis Bledel, Raven Symone, Evan Rachel Wood, and Lindsay Lohan in the early aughts while completing a recent lie detector test for the magazine’s YouTube series.
What Did Hilary Duff Experience?
Duff said, “It’s a career-high,” when questioned if the experience was a personal best “As an example, how would you explain a career-high? Like a personal high or merely a major accomplishment? ‘This is cool that I was featured in this,’ I recall thinking. But no, it had been an extremely stressful and anxiety-inducing day. In addition, Mandy and I have become great friends. So, this is rather amusing.”
Duff did not go into detail, but another feature star Wood has spoken about the shoot. The Westworld star recounted in a string of tweets from 2014, “After this shot, I was practically in tears. They tried on the dress on me, and I was not happy with it, but they said there was not enough time…because everyone else’s fittings were taking up too much time. After that, I was offered the option of wearing flats or heels. When I said I wanted flats, I was offered heels and advised they looked better. Then we were…all lined up, staring and nodding.”
She went on to say, “For the first time, I was 15 and felt my individuality being obliterated, as well as the pressure…to shut up and do what you are told. I felt like a piece of meat. Since then, I have discovered my own voice. Never, ever again.”
Wood went on to say that she would “Since then, I’ve photographed the cover of Vanity Fair and had a very different experience. It was very amazing.” Wood is not any longer on Twitter, but copies of her chats were obtained mostly by Daily Mail.
What Else Did Hilary Reveal During The Test?
Throughout her lie detector exam, Duff did not only talk about the shoot. She also revealed about her and her husband Matthew Koma’s recent group date with her ex-Joel Madden and current wife Nicole Richie. Last month, the group went to Scratch|Bar & Kitchen in Los Angeles, which featured Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy and his girlfriend Meagan Camper.
Duff added that while she appreciates her connection with Madden, she does not feel the need to keep in touch with all her ex-boyfriends. “This is a really specific circumstance,” she explained.
Would she, on the other hand, ever contemplate engaging on a group date with her husband’s ex? “Which one?” she inquired of Vanity Fair after being informed that any of them would suffice. “Is he with you? Why not, right?”
