Hollywood Actor Liev Schreiber Says ‘Ukraine Can Win The War Against Russia’

‘Ukraine can win the war against Russia’. American actor and director Liev Schreiber thinks so, even though his fears highlight that it will be a long fight. He was also quick to remind the media that we must allow it to be in the news. Schreiber’s statement came after Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, addressed global business leaders at Davos.

It’s overwhelming how resilient the Ukrainian people are,” said Schreiber. His grandfather was of Ukrainian and Polish descent. This might have been one of the reasons for his involvement in this crisis.

This could go on for some time and there’s a danger of it fading from the news cycle … and I think we have to remember that these people are in the fight of their lives right now for values and principles that we share, I think, as Europeans and Americans,” he told Reuters TV.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech at World Economic Forum in Davos marked the opening of the four-day meeting. The event gathered some 2,000 business and economic leaders as well as experts. The agenda is said to be Ukraine. He was pressing countries to ratchet up sanctions against Russia as a warning to others considering using brute force.

He said, “As for when this war may end, I think it depends on some things, specific things. First of all, on the desire of different parties,” and added, “Because this war will end in any case, and we understand that there is a ‘military’ part of the war (now is the tensest moment: a lot of blood of innocent people, civilians, a lot of military personnel losses). After the military part is over, I am sure there will be a peace process in any case, and there will be a negotiating table, and there will definitely be peace. The question is whom Ukraine will negotiate with, the question is which Russian president Ukraine will negotiate with.”

Ukraine has been at war with Russia since 24 February 2022.
