Mark Ruffalo And HBO Sued Over Fire At Miniseries’ Shoot Location

In May 2019, while filming the TV show “I Know This Much is True“, a fire broke out. Now, HBO and Mark Ruffalo have been sued for the fire in the New York shoot location.

An alleged complaint states that production stored kerosene, heating oil, and other potentially explosive substances on-site. According to reports, the production team’s failure to clean up after themselves sparked the outrage of the people. Some of those who lived close enough to the fire and who were affected by its poisons and carcinogens have spoken out, saying that the fire also damaged their homes. “Uncovered and uncontrolled debris pile, toxin leaks, and wind-driven gaseous dispersion” were also alleged to have been left behind by HBO after the wildfire, according to residents.

HBO and Mark Ruffalo are being sued for an undisclosed amount. There are rumors that it’s somewhere in thousands of dollars.

TMZ has learned that residents who live near the dealership are suing HBO, saying that the fire-damaged their houses and exposed them to harmful pollutants and carcinogens. HBO is yet to comment on the allegations.

In addition to Mark Ruffalo, the executive producer of the series was described in the lawsuit. Because kerosene and heating oil were stockpiled in the filming area, “the film set was a powder keg,” according to the inhabitants.

Mark Ruffalo Is Maintaining His Silence On The Matter

Ruffalo, who recently featured in Netflix’s “The Adam Project”, and Bong Joon Ho’s newest film, is yet to comment on the case, but neighbors are “seeking millions in damages.” His performance in “I Know This Much is True” proved to be a career-changing experience for the actor. He was able to demonstrate his ability to portray two distinct personas on television. Mark Ruffalo was also nominated for two Emmy Awards for it.

HBO and/or Mark Ruffalo’s reactions may take some time to develop, given the freshness of the news of this case. The case’s outcome may or may not be made public as a consequence of the residents’ desire for financial compensation. Also, Read Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Trial: All About Judge Penney Azcarate
