Nicolas Cage And His Wife, Riko Shibata Reveal Baby’s Gender
Nicolas Cage and his wife, Riko Shibata, have revealed that they are expecting a baby girl. Cage already has two son, Weston Coppola Cage (born in 1990), with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton, and Kal-El (born in 2005), with ex-wife Alice Kim. While appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Cage himself revealed the news about the new addition to the family.
“I’m gonna announce some big news for everybody — I’m gonna have a little girl,” Cage told Clarkson and the audience with a smile. He also revealed that he and Riko Shibata have chosen a name based on Cage’s “favorite song ever written,” (which would be The Beatle’s “Across the Universe”), as well as the legacy name of August Coppola, Cage’s father.
“Her name is gonna be Lennon Auggie,” Cage revealed. “I’m gonna call her Lenny for short… “I’m thrilled! It’s gonna be the biggest adventure of my life.”

Cage is a 58-year-old and is active in Hollywood since 1981. Among his numerous accomplishments (Oscars, international renown, decades as a movie star…), he also went through the cycle of becoming a father twice. He is father to two boys who are now men. In that light, it’s a little strange that Cage is now resuming his role as a new father – but then again, it’s precisely the kind of daring spirit we’d expect from Nic Cage!
“I miss it all. I miss watching a child discover things for the first time,” told ET’s Will Marfuggi. “The way the sunlight shines through a leaf. Taking them to have a lobster dinner and have them freak out at the table, ‘What the heck is Daddy eating? What is that thing? It looks like a monster, like a giant bug!’ All that things.”
“I miss going to the toy store, I miss singing lullabies, and I miss rocking in rocking chairs,” Cage did add. “I was really hoping for another child. My boys are all grown up, so this will be great.”

Nicolas Cage is now appearing in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, currently running in cinemas. A meta-flick about Cage accepting a celebrity appearance job, only to end up in a “real-life” action film.
The synopsis of the film reads, “A cash-strapped Nicolas Cage agrees to make a paid appearance at a billionaire super fan’s birthday party, but is really an informant for the CIA since the billionaire fan is a drug kingpin and gets cast in a Tarantino movie.”

Cage has previously been married four times, the most recent of which was to Kim. Cage previously married Patricia Arquette (1995-2001), Lisa Marie Presley (2002-2004), Alice Kim (2004-2016), and Erika Koike (married in March 2019 and divorced in June 2019) before marrying Shibata, his fifth wife.
