Peter Dinklage Shows His Affection Towards The Role Of Tyrion Lannister

Game Of Thrones is undeniably one of the most fan-followed series of all time. The series that aired its first season back in 2011 had a terrific run on the network for 8 years. The saga of thrones concluded in 2019 with its eighth and final season but is fondly remembered even now by fans and actors alike. The series has given the audience many characters to remember forever. One of them was Tyrion Lannister‘s character, brought to life on screen by Peter Dinklage. Peter Dinklage has been in the industry since 1995, but his most prominent character has to be Tyrion Lannister. Lannister played by Dinklage is a dwarf in the series and an heir of one of the most powerful families. However, Tyrion being a dwarf is subject to the family’s resentment, especially Lord Twyn Lannister’s. However, Tyrion is a quick-witted and self-indulged individual. One who uses his family’s power and wealth to live a lavish life without caring about the prejudice of the outside world.

Dinklage was the first actor to be confirmed by the makers for the series in 2009. Peter received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the dwarf character. Moreover, Peter went on to win four Primetime Emmy Awards for Supporting Actor in the series. He’s the only member of the cast to win the prestigious award and bag a nomination for each season. Dinklage also claimed a Golden Globe Award for being an outstanding supporting actor in Game of Thrones.

    Peter Dinklage About Tyrion

The show concluded in 2019, but the conclusion of last season was a sort of disappointing event as reviewed by the audience. However, for Peter Dinklage, Tyrion Lannister will always be special. In an interview, Peter answered a question that asked what the character meant to him.

He means a good time, he means a strong moral compass in a world that really didn’t have much of a moral compass,” shared Dinklage. “Even though on paper he seems to be the most morally bankrupt individual, he’s really the one, even in the end, he had to convince the heroic Jon Snow to do something as bad as it was. He was the guiding force in many ways of that world, and he did it behind the curtain without being the one least likely to succeed in doing so,” he stated.

Adding, “And he provided most importantly levity to the situation which I think was what the audience needed quite often in that show.” Peter Dinklage is very fond of the character of The Imp. As reflected once again by this explanation of his character by Dinklage.

Dinklage recently starred in the musical romance film Cyrano. The film is based on a stage musical by the same name, written by Erica Schmidt, who happens to be the wife of Peter Dinklage. Peter has garnered mostly positive responses from the viewers as well as from the critics. The film has already earned Dinklage a nomination for Best Actor In A Musical Motion Picture at the 79th Golden Globe Awards.
