One thing all Star Wars fans can agree on is that they can’t get enough of it. If you are such a fan then there is good news for you. Kevin Kiner, the musician of The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch, has revealed the creation of a mysterious new animated project by Lucasfilm.
What Did Kevin Actually Say?
YouTube channel The Convor Call had invited Kevin on a charity live-stream hosted by the. There he said, “You know, we are working on a new project.” He further added,” It is an animated project. It is a Star Wars project. And that is all we can say. It is really, really frickin’ great… To the point where Lucasfilm and Disney are giving us full orchestra for every episode… It is a very special project, some great, great people are involved, and we are really privileged to be part of that one. And I probably said too much already.”
A job description issued by ICON Creative Studio previously alluded to the presence of a new animation project centered in the Star Wars universe. The job posting was looking for someone to work on a collaboration with Lucasfilm, in the areas of “Modeling”, “Rigging,” and “Animation.”
Kevin Kiner’s Background And His Star Wars Journey
Kiner is a composer who has featured on a variety of television shows, notably Walker, Texas Ranger, CSI: Miami, and Star Trek: Enterprise. The animated movie The Clone Wars released in 2008 was Kiner’s first Collaboration with the studio. He later returned to compose the animated version of the same name. It ran for five seasons on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2013. In 2020, Disney+ renewed The Clone Wars for its final season that is the 7th season on Disney+.
Kiner also created the soundtrack for Star Wars Rebels. The animated series ran from 2014 to 2018 on Disney XD. He most recently started working on the first season of The Bad Batch, a Disney+ animated series that launched in 2021. A season 2 is presently in the works, with a release date set for later this year.
The Disney Channel/Disney XD series Star Wars Resistance ran over 2 years from 2018 to 2020. The Disney+ animation anthology series Star Wars: Visions premiered in 2021. Disney has two more extant animated Star Wars projects to produce. Star Wars: A Droid Story, an animated special/movie, is in the process for Disney+.
