What Does Taylor Swift Have To Talk About Phoebe Bridgers’ Music?
Swift told the publication in an email that she believes the specificity of Phoebe’s lyrics, as well as the vulnerability expressed in her voice when she delivers them, is what makes her music so deeply impactful and moving for her (Taylor) as a fan. This Isn’t The First Time Taylor Has Appreciated Phoebe!
Swift hasn’t been shy about praising Bridgers in the past. She praised Bridgers as one of her favorite artists in the world. This was during an interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers last November. She went on to say that if Phoebe sings it, she will listen. Taylor expressed her admiration for her (Bridgers) voice. She also explained how she and Bridgers met, revealing that it all began with a text message. Bridgers told her side of the story about meeting Shift via text message in February, explaining that she initially mistook it for Aaron Dessner of The National.
“I got this random text from Aaron Dessner that was really weirdly worded for him,” she said. “And I was like, ‘What the f–k is this?’ And as I was reading it, I [realized], Oh, my God, it’s from Taylor Swift,” said Phoebe Bridgers.
Phoebe went on to say that they had started texting about everything. She felt like when you meet someone at a party and spend the entire night in the corner saying, me too while conversing with Taylor. Bridgers went on to say that she and Swift had yet to meet in person. Bridgers has also revealed her favorite Taylor Swift song and dubbed the pop star a “king of her craft.” Bridgers also talked about discovering Swift’s music through one of her guitar students when she was a “failed guitar teacher” in her teenage years on Charli XCX’s Best Song Ever podcast.
