“The Palace Papers” By Tina Brown Describes Explosive Accounts Of The Invisible Side Of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

Britain’s Royal Family has always been entangled in drama. They are known for philanthropy, maintaining good equations to rectify the past with Commonwealth countries. But, there are deeper, complex characteristics entailed in each member of the Royal Family. Tina Brown, who was formerly working as an editor for New Yorker and Tatler, a British magazine, brought out an investigative-cum revelation account of the Royal Family, especially the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

It is specifically an account of the women of Windsor and the difficulties the family has been facing since Princess Diana’s death. The focus is heavier on the Meghan Markle-Prince Harry exit from the family.

Tina Brown Mentioned About The Sussex Majesties ‘Mutual Addiction To Drama’

The accounts iterated the Meghan-Prince Harry drama that took place in 2020. Before that, the wedding in 2018, which was no less than a marriage straight-out of a fairy tale.

The reviews suggest that with existing press anecdotes and independent reporting, Tina Brown has brilliantly put forth the ‘other perspective’ with gossipy articulation and addictive readability.

In an account, she wrote about the actress’ high ambitions, but no signs of reachability. As she was working on the popular drama series, “Suits,” she was afraid of her prospects as she was not age-appropriate to be a leading lady.

She wrote, “Meghan was always so close, but never quite there.” Tina observed that there were a lot of commonalities between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry- traumatizing childhood, fondness for nourishing grievances, and what a staffer told Brown, “a mutual  ‘addiction to drama’

The book also delves into the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. About Kate, Brown writes that if it would not be for her socialite mother, Carole- Kris Jenner of Bucklebury, she would not be in the family.

Both William and Kate were astounded by Meghan’s behavior towards the staffer. Brown writes, “A typically uncomfortable incident had taken place during the rollout of the wedding plans when I was told Meghan yelled at a junior employee who held an announcement back because it clashed with something scheduled with the household of another senior royal.”

Prince Harry Had Troubling Traits Post Princess Diana’s Death

Prince Harry could not take the death of his mother, in 1997, very well. It hampered its academics. During his teen years, Brown writes, he “regularly got into fights that turned physical, ending up on crutches after kicking in a window during a dispute with another student over a girl.”

Prince Harry also developed temperament issues and got into liquor addiction. He eventually enrolled himself in a military school. Brown pens, most of the people around him agreed that Army school enrollment ” saved Harry from going off the rails.”

Post his military stint, he was “acting belligerent, carousing all night” and not so happy with the royal duties. Eventually, he started dating Cressida Bones, a model, and actress. The family was positive about Bones and thought she “had all the makings of a perfect partner for Harry, who was madly in love with her.”

But, Cressida was not happy with Harry’s anger issues. He had an entitled behavior. “Without his army mates to cut him down to size, his sense of entitlement was out of control. His outbursts were more frequent and childlike,” Brown writes. After their break up in 2014, Prince Harry lost his hopes of getting love until Meghan came into his life in 2016.

Tina Recounted The Concerns Of Prince Williams

Meghan Markle was ending her project “Suits.” At the time, she was dating Cory Vitiello, a Canadian Chef. However, he “wasn’t ready for marriage, even if she was.” Prince Harry wanted to settle down and start a family. They met each other at London’s elite Soho Club. Things started moving very swiftly which concerned the older brother Prince William.

Initially, he did not voice his concerns and was nervous about how fast things are moving forward. Prince William was worried that Meghan will witness a cultural shock, and will be moving in with little understanding of British culture. His main concern was, “Harry’s mental fragility was such that he wouldn’t be strong enough to handle all of that on her behalf, as well as his issue.”

The marriage day arrived in May 2018. But, things were not as glittery as they seemed on the surface. The union of the Duke and future Duchess of Sussex was chaotic and all drama.

One of the incidents was Meghan’s dispute with Angela Kelly, who is a stylist for the Queen. The spat was over which tiara Meghan will wear. This prompted Harry to say, “Whatever Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”

Another minuscule quarrel was with the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. The fight was as small as the tights for the flower girls. According to sources in the Palace, Tina wrote, there “was a lot of raging. In-person shouting in front of other members of staff, basically in front of too many people, which is why it all started to come out … “

Eventually, the fear of Prince William started to come true. The royal tour of the couple to Australia and New Zealand was a nightmare for the people who knew about it.

But, Brown writes, Meghan and Harry were not happy. She writes, “She apparently hated every second of it. She found the itinerary of engagements ‘pointless,’ a former Palace employee told me.” The effect of this was seen when Prince Harry was all grumpy during the press bytes.

It was Prince Harry’s duty to acclimatize Meghan with the culture and duties of being a part of the Royal Family. However, the book made a shocking observation, as per the book, “He didn’t want to. Their new complicity required Meghan to fight all the norms he had kicked against for so long. She was now his comrade in arms. An aide described their confrontational stance to me as a mutual ‘addiction to drama.”

Finally, in 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry decided to exit the Royal family. But, as per an insider, the couple was shaken by the reaction of the family. Brown writes, “They thought … it would force the Royal Family to respond by saying … ‘Okay, Harry and Meghan, what do you want? We’re going to give you what you want,’” Consequently, the Royals shut their doors.

Tina Brown’s book will be out on April 26th, 2022.
