His recent step to donate a huge amount of money as a scholarship for black college students has touched the heart of millions of his fans.
Travis Scott Supports The Black Students Financially
Travis Scott is making sure that the future of black college students shines bright. What he wants is that hundreds of black college students to walk across the commencement stage with their diplomas. The huge financial support that he’s providing them with is a 7 figure donation that is $1,000,000. Around 100 students at HBCUs Who are going to graduate in the class of 2022 are getting this big support from the rapper. The aim of this gesture is to ensure that black students can cross their finish lines and no last-minute financial hurdles will affect their studies.”
So who are the scholars that have received the scholarship? The pharmacy major Nisha Encarnacion from the United States Virgin Islands is studying at Florida A&M University. with the support of this scholarship she has paid her way through college along with supporting her mother and daughter. Another example includes Chisom Okwor Who is a computer science major at Fisk University has said his goal is to help transform developing countries in Africa. North Carolina central university broadcast journalism major Jordan Massey took a tonne of depth to get his communications degree but now has Travis Scott as a savior.
All About The Scholarship
The soon-to-be grad students at each get a 10,000 dollars scholarship from the Waymon Webster scholarship fund established by Travis Scott previously. The recipients will have to finish their final semester with at least a 3.5 GPA. This one million scholarship is a part of Travis’ Project Heal. It was announced back in March and included $5 million in earmarks. Travis’s sister Jordan Webster manages the scholarship fund. Jordan recently graduated with a degree from Howard University.
The huge donation of the money went to seniors at 38 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It included Alabama A&M University, Morehouse College, Texas Southern University, Grambling State University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Prairie View A&M University.
Even a few months ago Travis court was under the radar following the tragedy that shook the heart of millions of viewers and the rapper himself. Scott gradually overcame the guilt trip and began to return slowly to the spotlight. His recent performance at the 2021 billboard Music Awards was a great evidence office come back on the big screen.
