Jason Momoa is set to reprise the role of aquatic superhero Arthur Curry in DCEU’s upcoming film ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.’ The film is set to release on December 25, 2023. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Momoa talked about the future of ‘Aquaman‘ amid Warner Bros. Discovery shelving ‘Batgirl‘, slashing budgets, and overseeing layoffs.

That’s an interesting question,” the actor said and paused for a few seconds. “I just trust in them to make the right decisions, and I gotta stay in my lane.”

We killed it,” he said. “We made something amazing and it’ll come out when it’s meant to come out. The nice thing about what’s happened with COVID is that everyone is trying to rush to meet these deadlines but we know it should come out when it’s ready to come out [at a time] when everybody is getting back in the movie theaters.”

He also thanked Tom Cruise for luring the audiences back to theaters as his ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ earned $1.4 billion at the box office.

He talked about reprising the role as long as people love it. “As long as we can. If people don’t like it and it feels like it’s past its due date, then we won’t make another one,” he said. “But if they love it, then we will make more, you know. I don’t want to force anything down someone’s throat to watch it. But I love it.”

I’ve been a part of a lot of things that really sucked, and movies where it’s out of your hands. Conan was one of them,” he said.

He added, “It’s one of the best experiences I had, and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of shit.”
