Johnny Depp and Amber Heard‘s defamation trial ended on June 1 2022 and the verdict was given in favor of Depp. It was a shock for Heard and she said she was “heartbroken”. The actress recently gave her first post-trial interview and emphasized that she stands by every claim she made said against her ex-husband.
Heard was asked about Johnny’s statement in court, in which he claimed he’d never hit her, and Amber quickly termed it a lie. According to a report, this particular accusation could result in Johnny suing her again.
Johnny Depp To Sue Amber Heard Again?
Amber stated she did not regret her testimony in the defamation trial in a post-trial interview with NBC, portions of which were released on Monday. “Yes, it is,” Amber answered when the host asked if Johnny’s claim in court that he never hit her was a lie.
Due to these comments from her most recent interview, a New York-based lawyer suggested in an interview on Tuesday that Amber could be back in court. “Yes. This interview could count as a new ‘publication’ under the law, which could spur a third lawsuit,” lawyer Nicole Haff told The Daily Mail, even before being questioned if Johnny Depp had grounds to sue Amber again for the interview.
“Heard’s lawyers have already stated that she cannot pay the original judgment,” the lawyer said, adding that Johnny should not undertake the third trial against Amber.
In her interview, Heard also discussed the ‘hate and vitriol’ she faced online during her trial against Johnny Depp. “You cannot tell me that you believe this is fair,” she said.
