Elon Musk Threatened To ‘Burn Down’ Warner Bros. If Amber Heard Got Fired From ‘Aquaman 2’

The D. C. Studios have had a tempestuous run in recent times since the new leadership and merger with Discovery. Peter Safran and James Gunn have changed the direction of the studio for the next eight to ten years. However, recent releases like ‘Black Adam’ and ‘The Flash’ were deemed to be complete disasters at the box office. While the much-delayed and anticipated ‘Aquaman 2’ is set to release, it is engulfed in new Amber Heard controversy.

The world witnessed one of the most brutal defamation lawsuits being played out in court between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp. Though the case ended with Depp winning the case, the ripples are now felt as the sequel to ‘Aquaman 2’ is set to release. In the publicly released therapy notes of Amber Heard, it is seen that Heard was humiliated on the sets of the DCEU film. She was also on the verge of getting fired, but her ex-boyfriend, Elon Musk, saved her job after threatening Warner Bros.

In September 2023, Warner Bros. released the trailer for ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’ after much delay. The film is a sequel to the 2018 box-office hit ‘Aquaman’. Jason Momoa plays Arthur Curry, the king of Atlantis, and Amber Heard plays Mera in the DC film. However, after the release, Amber decided to be dropped from the franchise due to a lack of chemistry with Jason Momoa.

The former DC Films head Walter Hamada sent a letter to Amber Heard’s attorney, Karl Austen, stating that they are planning to drop the actress from the film. However, now a report by Variety, states that Amber Heard’s ex-boyfriend, Elon Musk, played a huge part in preventing Amber’s termination from the DC franchise.

Warner Bros. moved ahead with Amber Heard when one of Elon Musk’s lawyers sent a “scorched-earth letter to Warner Bros. threatening to burn the house down.” A source closer to the behind-the-scenes drama informed the media outlet about Musk’s move.

Though Jason Momoa‘s character is central to ‘Aquaman’, Amber Heard’s Mera also plays a vital role in the franchise. However, the defamation trial hampered Amber’s stake in the film. Now, the film is in trouble after the release of the therapy notes that Johnny Depp’s lawyers utilized during the trial.

Amber Heard’s therapist, Dr. Dawn Hughes’ notes, revealed that Jason Momoa, once under the influence of alcohol, dressed as Johnny Depp and endorsed the removal of Amber Heard from the project. The notes read, “Jason said he wanted me fired. Jason drunk-late on set. Dressing like Johnny. Has all the rings too.” One of the insiders who accompanied the crew during the London schedule in 2021 said, “Jason works his ass off, likes to have a beer once in a while like everyone, but doesn’t show up drunk to set.”
