Nicolas Cage is down to join the Matt Reeves helmed Batverse, however, there’s a catch. The Batman, which was released recently featured Riddler as the main villain. And there are many rumors surrounding the next installment of the Robert Pattinson starrer. Moreover, both Robert and Reeves have listed their choices for the potential villains in the sequel of the film, if made. And now, the Ghost Rider actor has joined in the conversation with a very exciting suggestion of his own.
Nicolas Cage Pitches For Playing The Next Villain In The Batman
Cage shared his idea for joining the series as a “terrifying villain“. Nicolas wants to bring the lesser-known antagonist “Egghead” into the spotlight. “I like… oh, here’s something, I’ve been thinking about this, because we have this new, Robert Pattinson as the Batman, which I haven’t seen it yet, but I think he would be terrific, the villain that Vincent Price played on the ’60s show, Egghead,” said Cage.
Furthermore, he added, “I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I could make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros. I’m down for Egghead.” Egghead debuted in the Batman television series that aired from 1966 to 68. The villain played by Vincent Price wore a signature yellow and white suit with egg-related puns and weapons up his hands.
Cage has traveled towards non-mainstream cinema with films like the recent The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Pig. However, the actor expressed his likeness for comic-based films and characters for their “wholesome” approach. “I don’t know what the umbrage is with people that want to knock them. I certainly think there’s great value in that they’re bringing happiness to people,” Cage said.
The Batman’s Team Discuss About The Future Villains
The Batman has caught everyone’s attention and the release of the film hasn’t let the excitement die. Additionally, the conversations about the film’s sequel and next villains are ruling the internet. There’s no official announcement made about continuing this series by Warner Bros. However, there’s no stopping for Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves to engage in ideas about the future of this Batverse.
Robert Pattinson as the Batman faced Penguin and Falcone along with Riddler in the first film. However, Robert expressed his choice for the next villain in the further film. “I’d love to do something like Court of Owls,” he said in a recent interview. Court Of Owls appeared in 2011’s Batman 3 and area group of wealthiest families of Gotham. They engage in controlling the whole of Gotham with hired assassins called ‘Talons’.
Moreover, the film’s director Matt Reeves also shared his insights about the antagonists he’d like to appear on screens with his storytelling. “I think Hush is a really interesting one to do. I’ll choose Hush,” said Reeves. “That doesn’t mean that the next [movie villain] will be Hush. I just want to say, there are so many,” he told.
