A new Batman trailer has surfaced online. The 30 seconds trailer shows a whole lot of Riddler in it. While the trailer isn’t shared by anyone related to the movie, it was released by Warner Bros Indonesia. Subsequently, it was shared on the social platform, Reddit. The trailer features Riddler directly addressing Bruce Wayne. This is the most screen-time for Riddle we’ve yet witnessed.
The Recent Trailer of The Batman
In the trailer, we see The Riddler saying, “I hope you’re listening Bruce Wayne.” The message is probably being live-streamed by the antagonist for all in Gotham City to hear. He concludes with, “I’m just here to unmask the truth.” Later, Catwoman played by Zoë Kravitz informs Batman about the recent killings in the city.
The information includes important elites of the city including Gotham’s mayor, Don Mitchell Jr. (Rupert Penry-Jones), as well as its police commissioner, Pete Savage (Alex Ferns). Additionally, Riddler tells Wayne that he’ll make the latter answer for the sins of his father. The trailer then gives a glimpse into the high-octane action we’re going to witness in the film.
This film is the first DC creation in which the comic character Riddler is getting the center stage as the main antagonist. Riddler is described as a psychopath with a terrorist aspect to his character and activities. Matt Reeves, The Batman’s director explained the antagonist by saying, “He’s not just a serial killer. He definitely has a political agenda. There’s a terrorist aspect to him.”
From all the teasers and trailers yet released, the film seems to involve raw violence, passing all the limits of before. Riddler is a danger set to destroy everything that comes his way in reaching Bruce Wayne. The film follows the villain’s agenda against Wayne who’s set to disclose the corrupt truth of the Wayne family to their heir. Moreover, seems like this all would be as unknown by Batman as the audience.
Robert Pattinson’s Batman
In addition, the hero featured here is a disputed character of his own. The dark and shady character has many arches to his character, not all of which are positive. About Wayne, the actor playing it Robert Pattinson shared, “Like, it’s two years into it, and the crime has gotten worse since Bruce started being Batman, the people of Gotham think that he’s just another symptom of how shit everything is.”
Adding more details about a scene to explain The Batman’s stance, he tells, “There’s this scene where he’s beating everyone up on this train platform, and I just love that there’s a bit in the script where the guy he’s saving is also just like, ‘Ahh! It’s worse!’ You’re either being mugged by some gang members, or a monster comes and, like, fucking beats everybody up! The guy has no idea that Batman’s come to save him. It just looks like this werewolf.”
All these details coming from the team itself are adding to the uncontrollable urge to already watch the film. Moreover, these trailers surfacing online from sources all over the world aren’t helping the situation much. Matt Reeves’s directed The Batman is slated for a March release this year.
