Adam Sandler Confirms His Reunion With The Directors Of Uncut Gems For A New Film

Adam Sandler is a comedian, actor, and filmmaker from the United States. Sandler was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1995 before going on to star in several Hollywood films.

While some of his comedic films, such as Jack and Jill (2011), were critically panned, he received nine Golden Raspberry Award nominations and 37 Raspberry Award nominations, more than any other actor except Sylvester Stallone.

In more recent news, the actor has confirmed that he will be working together with the directors of Uncut Gems for a new project.

It’s true, Josh and Benny Safdie are reunited with their genuine inspiration from the days when they were writing Uncut gems. EW exclusively confirmed that Adam Sandler and his Uncut Gems filmmakers are preparing to reconnect for a new project.

After speculations that surfaced earlier this month. Sandler revealed in an interview with EW last week that he was “going to do another movie with the Safdie brothers,” though he didn’t elaborate.

They’re working hard on it,” Sandler says of the filmmakers.

“Their work ethic is bananas. They’re always working, always writing, always thinking. I don’t know what I can tell you, but it’s gonna be very exciting. It’s different. But I don’t want them to ever say, ‘What the hell did you tell him that for?’ So I’ll just let them talk [about it].”

    The Reunion Isn’t Completely Unexpected

The reunion isn’t completely unexpected: After all, Sandler’s portrayal as motormouth New York City jeweler, basketball lover, and compulsive gambler Howard Ratner in Uncut Gems won him some of the greatest reviews of his career.

To everyone’s surprise, he did not receive an Oscar nomination for the film. Although he did win an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.

Both the Safdies and Sandler have talked highly of their partnership, and the actor told EW before the release of Gems in 2019 that he “would die to work with [the Safdies] again.”

“We talk about it constantly, man,” he said. “I love these guys, I love ’em. I mean, they’re incredible filmmakers… Of course, I would die to work with them again, because it’s a brand new feeling. But the funniest thing is when I would say to the Safdies, ‘Your future is so bright,’ they didn’t want to talk about that. They were like, ‘I just like Gems, man.’ They just were so deep in it.”

After a couple of years off, it appears like the Safdies are ready to return to the court. This is how they and we both triumph.
