‘The Boys’ Season 3 Features A Surprise Marvel Cameo And It Is Amazing

The Boys” is Eric Kripke’s bloody superhero parody. It has always felt like a cross between “Watchmen” and “South Park”. The series shows pessimism about the current condition of superhero fiction and pop culture, coated in a massive amount of blood, cum, and piss. To its credit, the show maintains the unrelenting tone that has made it such a sensation while also adding a few new twists to its already-complex ensemble of characters.

However, after three seasons, the joke is beginning to wear thin, as the satire becomes weaker and more toothless, and more characters compete for our attention while driving down familiar routes.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers from season 3 of ‘The Boys’.

The Boys” season three has already released its first three episodes. The series started in a wonderful strange pattern, including a cameo that Marvel fans were not really expecting. The starting episode does not really match the show’s storyline. It was from the long-teased “Dawn of the Seven” feature film. In a part reflecting the “Knightmare” reality of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the movie begins with a sneak peek of Stormfront. But Aya Cash is not reprising her role this time. Instead, Charlize Theron is playing the character in the feature film.

Charlize Theron appeared as Clea in the MCU’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” in a post-credit scene. The first thirty seconds of “The Boys” season 3 features her cameo appearance. Theron is playing herself, simply an actress hired to play the part of Stormfront in the “Vought Studios” movie.

Although nothing is explicitly mentioned, Antony Starr’s Homelander appears alongside her. The scene between the two clearly written to be in-universe PR designed to make Homelander look as good as possible while putting plenty of distance between him and his former partner.

One year has passed after the events of season 2 of “The Boys”. The story of the new season picks up right from there. Everyone is pretty much overjoyed with the new season. “There’s definitely a lot of madness,” series creator Eric Kripke previously explained in an interview with TV Guide Magazine’s Sci-Fi & Fantasy Special Collector’s Issue about the new season.

It’s not a secret that we’re doing an episode about ‘Herogasm’ from the comics, which is a massive superhero orgy. And we’re doing something in the first episode that I think is definitely the craziest thing we’ve ever pulled off…and might be one of the craziest things anybody’s ever tried to pull off.”

Amazon’s official description for the new season reads as follows: “It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.”
