New ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ Has Major Connections With ‘Black Panther 2’

It looks like Marvel Studios never rests. They have been gearing up for their next release, “Thor: Love and Thunder“. The House of Mouse is also invested in this project and is making sure theaters are backed for this movie. This news comes only weeks after their recent release of “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”.

A new still was shared online from the Taika Waititi film. It showed a convening of the gods, who were likely addressing a big problem at hand. The issue could be the arrival of Christian Bale’s- Gorr the God Butcher. The picture also included Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and the Mighty Thor (Natalie Portman). The fact is, the appearance of another god ties both the stories of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “Moon Knight“, to it, at the same time.

Fans were quick to notice that the shared picture had the Asgardians sit near Bast, the god worshipped by Wakandans in “Black Panther“. This confirms the earlier rumors that the character would appear in the new film, All thanks Akosia Sabet, who portrays her. In Ryan Coogler’s earlier film, the goddess never appeared in the flesh, only as a vision. That too, during an opening exposition dump which explained the country and its traditions. The same character has also been referenced in “Moon Knight” as a member of the Egyptian Ennead.

Bast never appeared in “Moon Knight“. The show’s head writer Jeremy Slater thought that those gods could appear in the flick in a cameo role. He said, “Oh, God. I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t know. If so, my guess is it’s sort of a background cameo thing, but I really don’t know the answer to that. That be cool if it did. Make me very happy, I’d love to see Taweret it in there somewhere, as long as she’s not someone who’s getting butchered by Gorr.

He added, “If they kill Taweret, I’m done. I am officially retired. I will not recover from that personally. A hippo means more to me than most of the people I know in real life. Yes.”
