Natalie Portman remained absent from ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, but she is back for ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’. Her role is even bigger and better in the upcoming film than being the God of Thunder’s love interest, Jane Foster. Portman is currently on a promotion spree for the movie and ended up talking about its direction and production.
The actress made a special mention of director Taika Waititi. She spoke about the unique direction style and his sense of humor, which adds a fun dimension to his movies. ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ trailer gives a glimpse of the same.
Natalie Portman On Taika Waititi’s Direction Style: “It’s A Really Baller Way To Work Like This”
Natalie Portman opened up to Variety about her experience of working with director Taika Waititi. She highly praised him and revealed why she found his way daunting at first. “There’s a script, but most days, he prefers to throw it completely away and just spitball. It’s a really baller way to work on a movie like this. It was daunting at first, because I was like, there’s no way for me to prepare. How am I supposed to do a good job? And then I think I learned how to enjoy it”, she said.
Portman also said talked about the “imbalanced” male-to-female ratio she had experienced on movie sets earlier and how she didn’t have to be the only girl in the new Thor film. “I haven’t had particularly bad workplace experiences, but I was usually the only female around. It’s just imbalanced. So it’s nice to feel the awareness of it. There doesn’t have to be the girl in the movie. There can be many women who have many different personalities and many different desires”, said the ‘Black Swan’ actress.
Fans Are Glad Portman Is Back For ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’

One fan tweeted, “Pretty sure this happens with just about all his films so most actors are prepared for it”. Another fan wrote, “Can’t freaking wait! So glad Portman is back! This is going to be epic! Especially seeing the marathon #ThorLoveAndThunder #Thor #MightyThor #MCU #MoreThanAFan”.
