Gunn had originally planned for a third Scooby-Doo movie which he soon canceled. In 2020 he revealed the plot of the movie. The plot was going to be “The Mystery Ink gang are hired by a town in Scotland who complain they’re being plagued by monsters. But we discover throughout the film the monsters are actually the victims & Scooby & Shaggy have to come to terms with their own prejudices & narrow belief systems. (Yes, Really!),” Gunn shared.

Still, there are no plans of bringing Scooby-Doo back to the big screens. Mindi Kaling has also shared the first look at Velma which is a series. It is going to feature a more adult version of the character. Even though there is no official release date, this is a ray of hope for the Scooby-Doo fans.
