5 Moments Joey Absolutely Won At Life On F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
When We All Felt Joey's Joy
Joey is the ever flirty, hilarious and arguably chillest guy in the friend group. Growing up watching the show, we all wished that we had his simplistic yet loving qualities. However, Joey has his fair share of difficulties, particularly related to his acting career. These are the 5 moments when Joey absolutely won the audience over.
1. When Joey Became Dr. Drake Ramoray
A big part of the show's plot surrounding Joey is the fact that he is a struggling actor. After years of terrible auditions, off-off-off-Broadway plays, and a stint as a "dying" milk-carton model, Joey finally gets it. He lands a recurring role on Days of Our Lives as the neurosurgeon Dr. Drake Ramoray. It was the ultimate dream-come-true moment.
2. The Time He Invented "Thanksgiving Pants"
Joey shows up to Thanksgiving dinner in a pair of Phoebe's old maternity pants, and in doing so, solves a problem we've all faced. While the rest of the gang stresses over the turkey, Joey prepares for the real event: the eating.
3. Joey Risking His Life for a Sandwich
It doesn't get anymore 'Joey' than this. This is loyalty in its purest form. While on a ride-along with his cop-boyfriend Gary, Phoebe thinks she hears a gunshot (it's a car backfire). Joey's "heroic" instinct kicks in, and he immediately dives over, shielding his meatball sub. He did try to cover Ross but hey, loyalties are our priority and food can't be overcome by any.
4. When He Stood By the "Moo Point"
Overthinking is for common people. For Joey, there's nothing that can make him overthink. When Rachel is worried about her new assistant, Joey tries to comfort her by explaining the concept of a "moo point"—as in, "it's like a cow's opinion. It just doesn't matter. It's 'moo'. His confidence swayed even the best of us who want to live without any stress.
5. The Time He Enforced "Joey Doesn't Share Food!"
When Joey's date makes the horrendous mistake of taking some fries from his plate, Joey was visibly offended. It perfectly encapsulates our own reaction when, "I'll just have a bite of yours" partner steal our best-looking food. Joey says what we're all thinking, and we love him for it.
