10 MCU Heroes And Villains Who Deserve Their Own Show
The Winter Soldier
Bucky Barnes’s story is a tragedy. A solo series could finally explore the one thing we’ve only seen in flashes—his haunted past. A dark, espionage-thriller prequel, each episode could follow a different assassination or mission from his 70 years as Hydra's mind-controlled weapon, showing the toll it took on his psyche and his fleeting moments of humanity.
Elsa Bloodstone
The breakout star of Werewolf by Night, Elsa is a dry-witted, supremely skilled monster hunter who clearly has a long, complicated history with the supernatural. Following Elsa as she takes over the Bloodstone legacy, each episode could feature her hunting a different obscure Marvel monster, all while unraveling a larger conspiracy within the competitive, backstabbing world of monster hunters.
Wong
He’s the Sorcerer Supreme (on a technicality) and a certified fan favorite. He’s the universe’s most responsible adult, constantly cleaning up the magical messes left by others. We’d follow Wong as he manages the Sanctum Sanctorum, deals with mystical threats, and guides new sorcerers, all while trying to find time to watch The Sopranos.
Gambit
The Ragin' Cajun is a smooth-talking, kinetic-charging thief with a complicated past. After the long-stalled movie never materialized, a series is the perfect format for him—a stylish heist story. Set in New Orleans, the show would follow Remy LeBeau as he navigates the criminal underworld of the Thieves Guild, pulling off impossible heists while trying to outrun his past. Think Ocean's Eleven with an explosive, mutant twist.
The Valkyrie
She was introduced as a hard-drinking, cynical warrior and is now the King of New Asgard. How does someone like that handle the bureaucracy, politics, and mundane realities of running a kingdom? King Valkyrie would have to deal with intergalactic diplomacy, Earth-based zoning laws, and the everyday problems of her Asgardian subjects—all with her signature swagger (and occasional sword).
Nightcrawler
One of the most visually interesting and philosophically deep X-Men, Kurt Wagner’s story from circus performer to devout Catholic mutant is packed with potential. A series could explore his origins, his persecution, and his struggle to reconcile his demonic appearance with his deep faith. His teleporting "BAMF" ability would make for incredible action sequences, creating a truly unique blend of action, heart, and philosophy.
Nova (Richard Rider)
The MCU has shown us the destruction of Xandar and the Nova Corps and now it’s time to show us the sole survivor. A cosmic sci-fi epic, a "rookie cop" show on a galactic scale, following the last Centurion, Richard Rider, as he’s gifted the entire power of the Nova Force. We’d watch him learn to control god-like abilities while trying to protect a universe he’s only just beginning to understand.
The Sentry
Marvel took a positive step forward by introducing us to the Sentry in the latest movie, Thunderbolts. However, by the end of the movie, we see that Bob has returned to his normal self and decided not to pursue life as The Sentry anymore. This is Marvel's darkest and most high-concept hero. Robert Reynolds is a god-like being with “the power of a million exploding suns,” but he’s also his own worst enemy — his evil, all-powerful shadow-self, The Void.
Doctor Doom
It’s quite amazing that Marvel has never properly told the story of their most fascinating villain. As a character, Doctor Doom is so important to the Marvel Universe that he definitely deserves his own show. One must understand the extent of his complex backstory to fully appreciate Victor von Doom as a cornerstone of Marvel lore. We’d see the world from his perspective watching him build his nation, protect his people, and plan his moves against the “heroes” he views as chaotic and inferior.
Ghost Rider
Fans are literally begging Marvel for a high-budget, proper take on the Spirit of Vengeance. Both Johnny Blaze and Robbie Reyes were amazing in their respective portrayals. Ghost Rider is an essential part of the Marvel Universe in the comics and deserves to be portrayed with respect on the silver screen. The character carries that R-rated, magical horror-fantasy DNA that’s just waiting to be unleashed.
