CW Shows Including “Batwoman” And “Legends Of Tomorrow” Might Not Get A Season Renewal

“Batwoman,” “Legends Of Tomorrow” and some other CW shows are reportedly at risk as there is no renewal of seasons for these shows so far. Normally CW shows have a huge fan network that is spread throughout the world. Normally CW is known for wanting to give the showrunners and writers time to plan for the next season. This year has been quite different for Warner Media and CW shows. The reason might be that Warnermedia and Paramount are looking to sell CW.

Evident Delay In The CW’s Decisions On Several Shows

Usually, around this time of year, the CW would’ve already renewed most of the shows for the following season. Although this year, the story is quite strange, especially in the case of the Arrowverse franchise.

Since January there is no reports of any sales and that has no doubt delayed many CW shows. In March, the network began to hand out the first batch of renewals. It included “The Flash” season 9 and “Superman and Lois” season 3. The decision about “Stargirl 3” is to be revealed later as it is yet to premiere. Meanwhile, DC TV shows like “Batwoman”, “Legends Of Tomorrow” and “Naomi” are waiting to learn their fate.

The CW has handed out a number of it’s own originals.

According to the source of Hollywood Reporter, “The shows that are returning for the 2022-23 broadcast cycle are: All American (season five), The Flash (season nine), Kung Fu (season three), Nancy Drew (season four), Riverdale (season seven), Superman & Lois (season three), and Walker (season three). All American ranks as The CW’s most-watched series, while a pickup for The Flash was expected after star Grant Gustin agreed to a new deal to return for what sources say could be an abbreviated final season of the DC Comics drama. Superman & Lois is said to be a top performer on HBO Max, while Walker features network favorite Jared Padalecki (with a spinoff series also in the works).”

Other sources also revealed, “Other CW properties that are also at vulnerable states are Dynasty, which is in season 5, and The 4400 reboot. Charmed and Legacies reportedly have better odds, with the latter potentially enjoying better prospects due to its roots in The Vampire Diaries franchise.”

So “Batwoman” season 3 ended with a tease of a potential season 4. Another show “Legends Of Tomorrow” season 7 finished with such suspense that it is hard to wait for season 8. Though sadly fans might have to wait a little longer for the renewals of these shows.
