Redmayne was on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, to promote his new film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore. Jimmy asked him about the latest installment in the prequel series of Rowling’s Wizarding World.

The actor explained, “What I loved about this one is it feels like it’s sort of a wizarding heist movie,” he further said, “It’s like Ocean’s Eleven, set in a Wizarding World.”

Jimmy Fallon backed him up on this while exclaiming, “Really?” and appreciated his way of marketing the film with, “That’s a perfect way to sell it.” He drew an analogy where he compared Jude Law’s Dumbledore to George Clooney, and Eddie’s character as Brad Pitt.“…And Jude Law, who plays Dumbledore, I George Clooney, and I’m Brad Pitt,” he said.

Fallon repeated Eddie. At this, Redmayne said, “Obviously, you see the similarity.” A revelation was also made by him about how his good friend, Robert Pattinson was almost unrecognizable during the preparation for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. They both were working out in the same Warner Bros. Studio gym. He added how intensely Rob was creating out and completely changed himself for the role. “He was so physically changed, and he had a man bun,” the actor recalled.

Looks like Fantastic Beasts is not the only thing in the bag of work for Redmayne. On the show, Jimmy informed the audience of the successful run of the play Cabaret which stars Eddie in it. He also told us that the actor is nominated for an ‘Olivier Award.’ Fallon showed the audience a still of Eddie’s character from the play. He said, “You know what–that is– it is–that looks, it looks like a sort of bejeweled hate couture Skellington. This is actually– I play the Emcee in the Cabaret.

The Good Shepherd actor also addressed a question that Jimmy asked him about whether his children have watched the play or not. To this, he replied, “my kids are like five and four. I took them to the theater to watch Frozen, which they loved.” He further told the audience how he convinced his kids to come to “Daddy’s play.” But the scary costume terrified them.

Eddie also sang a song for them, but they were disappointed as it was not Let It Go from Frozen. They got hooked to Money Makes The World Go Round, a song in the play, that talks about the material obsession of the world. Jimmy wittily said, “Let’s put back Frozen.”

Jimmy asked about his first role and told the audience that Eddie had a role in Oliver. The actor added that I played the book boy in the play who had one line, “Books you wanted from the bookseller, sir.” It was received with thunderous applause. Finally, as per the tradition, Eddie taught Jimmy what he learned in the film. This time the Fantastic Beasts star learned the movement of manticores.
