PlayStation division of Sony has been struck with a lawsuit. The suit is alleging gender discrimination and unlawful termination by the company. The suit was filed by Emma Majo, who is a former IT security analyst. Also, she is attempting to organize a class action suit. This is to represent other women who are victims of PlayStation’s gender discrimination. This claim is according to the lawsuit’s specifications.
The complaint argues that the company tolerates and cultivates a hostile work environment for female employees. In fact, women are not granted promotions and are also not paid similarly to male employees in identical roles. This comes less than a week after PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan delivered an email to staff. In this email, he is denouncing Activision Blizzard’s response to accusations of CEO Bobby Kotick’s allegedly abusive conduct and harassment history throughout his 30 years at the firm.

He also stated that PlayStation does not believe in Blizzard. Blizzard’s responses do not adequately address the matter. Majo’s experience as a female employee at Sony from 2015 to 2021 is there comprehensively in the complaint. In this complaint, she claims that she was repeatedly denied an answer regarding how to go ahead in her career. Majo even says she was demoted as a result of her inquiry.
Emma even overheard bosses making gender-biased comments about female employees. Where they were implying that women are more emotional and less professional than males.

Emma Majo Gets Termination As Her Answer
According to the lawsuit, in 2021, Majo presented a signed declaration to Sony addressing the company’s alleged gender prejudice. Soon after, Emma Majo loses her job. That too purportedly owing to the shutdown of a department to which Majo claims she did not belong.
Emma Majo claims that she unlawfully lost her job. Further, she states the reason to simply be her gender and her being active and speaking against gender discrimination.
