Jason Momoa recently made headlines for his Fast And Furious Casting. And now the Aquaman star has bagged another major project. Jason will next be seen in Apple Tv’s upcoming project. The Game of Thrones actor will also serve as the producer of the series. Star Trek: Beyond writer, Doug Jung will serve as showrunner on the series.
Apple Tv Confirms The Involvement Of Jason Momoa
Apple’s new drama series, Chief of War will see Momoa in the lead role. The Series, co-created by Thomas Pa’a Sibbet and Momoa himself, will narrate the story of Hawaii’s colonization and unification. The series will depict these events from indigenous people’s perspectives.
According to a report by Variety, Momoa will probably depict a native in the series as the actor was born in Hawaii. This upcoming series will mark the second major role of Jason in an Apple project.
This Project Is Personal For Momoa
Jason will have a special attachment with the upcoming Apple Tv series, Chief of War as the series focuses on the history of Hawaii. Momoa never misses voicing his opinion on matters related to his native island. He has used his public platforms for raising concerns against construction projects in Hawaii that could’ve hurt the local ecology.
The series is also special for Momoa as it will be his first-ever Tv series writing credit. Jason has also co-written the 2014 thriller film, Road to Paloma. The upcoming series will have eight episodes with Justin Chon directing the first two episodes.
