Fans are already very much excited to get the new Jurassic World Dominion. They are really enthusiastic to see their favorite stars like Laura Dern and Sam Neil back on the big screen. The movie marks the end of not one, not two, but possibly three eras for this long-running, audience-favorite franchise.
The movie, the sixth overall in the Jurassic Park/World cycle, concludes the story that began with 2015’s Jurassic World. The lead actors cast included Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. But it also puts a bow on the previous trilogy of films by bringing back original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum for their first joint appearance since Steven Spielberg’s 1993 classic.
Laura Dern Is Upset With The Age Gap
In Jurassic Park, the duo of Laura Dern and Sam Neil was a treat to watch for all the fans out there. Dern was just 23 when she starred in Steven Spielberg’s 1993 film, while her co-star Neill was 44. But Laura Dern has said that she never had a problem with the age gap between herself and Sam Neill in Jurassic Park. It was nowhere inappropriate until recent years.
In a new interview with The Sunday Times, Neill noted that Dern was a “tender age” when they shot the film. Dern, however, said that at the time “it felt completely appropriate to fall in love with Sam Neill. And it was only now, when we returned in a moment of cultural awareness about the patriarchy, that I was, like, ‘Wow! We’re not the same age?’” she said.
What Does Sam Neil Think About It
When Sam Neil, Dern’s co-star shared his opinion regarding the matter, he also gave a firm answer, “I am 20 years older than Laura! Which at the time was a completely appropriate age difference for a leading man and lady.” Neil said.
He continued, “It never occurred to me until I opened a magazine and there was an article called ‘Old geezers and gals’. People like Harrison Ford and Sean Connery acting with much younger people. And there I was, on the list. I thought, ‘come on. It can’t be true.'”
“Jurassic World Dominion” will hit the theaters on 10 June 2022.
