    Marvel Studios Is Bringing Back Wong In “She-Hulk”

    Yes, it’s happening. The current sorcerer supreme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law.”  It was rumored that our beloved Benedict Wong will be appearing in an upcoming Marvel studio series. Guess what, that’s true.

    We officially know that he’ll be featured on the big screen once again very soon. We will see him in the upcoming movie from Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios released a brand new trailer and revealed some fresh details on the series, which included the big news that fans will get to see Wong once again.

    The series stars Tatiana Maslany in the lead role of Jennifer Walters that is Hulk. MCU has also confirmed that the superhero legal comedy series will also see Benedict Wong. He will be reprising his role as the sorcerer Wong.

    The description of the show reads, “Directed by Kat Coiro (Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9) and Anu Valia (Episodes 5, 6, 7) with Jessica Gao as head writer, Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kat Coiro, and Jessica Gao. Co-executive producers are Wendy Jacobson and Jennifer Booth.”

    During a conversation with Empire Magazine, Benedict Wong shared his feeling about the series. He said, “I call it Phase Wong. It’s a nice, interesting shift. Wong has taken on a new role, and that dynamic changes between them [Wong and Strange] both.” During “Spider-Man: No Way Home” it was revealed that Wong is now the Sorcerer Supreme, so the actors’ comments make a lot of sense.

    Benedict Wong was introduced in the MCU for the first time as Wong in the 2016 phase three film Doctor Strange. Then the Wong Storm continued in 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War” and 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” as well. Phase four of the MCU has only been underway since 2021. Benedict has certainly acted in quite a few of its chapters already. Wong technically appeared for phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the 2021 Disney plus animated series “What If…?”. His first live-action phase appearance was Kim in the feature films “Shang-Chi” and “The Legend Of The Ten Rings”. 

    Later in 2021, he shared the big screen with Spiderman in “Spiderman: No Way Home”. Though this movie featured Benedict Wong in a very short role, his unique acting skills caught the attention of the audience. The Marvel Cinematic Universe applauded his performance by promoting him. He got a more prominent role in “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness“.

    The brand new series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will smash its way onto Disney+ on August 17.
