In August 2020, Canadian rapper Tory Lanez shot Grammy-winning artist Megan Thee Stallion in her foot after Kylie Jenner’s pool party. Tory was charged, during the time, with one felony count each of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He pleaded not guilty. However, for the first time, the Savage rapper has opened up about the incident while talking to Gayle King on CBS Mornings.
Megan Thee Stallion Tears Up While Describing The Incident
CBS Mornings has released a preview of an episode with the rapper. During the conversation with Gayle King, Megan couldn’t hold her tears back. In 2020, after the pool party, Stallion insisted on leaving earlier than her friends. An argument took place in the car and she boarded off.
Before she started crying, she said the argument, “But that’s, like, normal friend stuff. Like, we fuss about silly sh– silly stuff all the time. But I never put my hands on anybody. I never raised my voice too loud. Like, this was one of times where it was, like, it shouldn’t have got this crazy.”The pace of incidents was fast after she got out of the car. Tory was screaming ‘Dance, Bitch.’ And then he started shooting.
Megan continued teary-eyed, ” ‘Oh, my God.’ … Like, he shot a couple of times. And I- I was so scared. He is standing up over the window shooting. And I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick. Like, ‘cause I’m like, ‘Oh, my God.
“If I take the wrong step, I don’t know if he’s going to shoot something that’s, like, super important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.’ “ King asked her whether she was afraid of getting killed. The artist replied, “I was really scared ’cause I had never been shot at before,” she continued.
Tory Lanez Was Taken In Custody For Violating The Protective Order
On April 5th, 2022, Tory Lanez was taken into custody for violation of the “discovery protective order.” Megan’s attorney argued that Lanez violated the order by addressing the DNA evidence on Social Media. A social media personality named DJ Akademiks revealed in a now-deleted tweet that read, “Tory Lanez DNA was not found on the weapon in the Meg Thee Stallion case.”
However, lawyers defending Lanez refuted that their client shared the evidence with him as the original report was concluded as ‘inconclusive.’ In conclusion, the court put a “crystal clear condition” for bail that Lanez “cannot mention the complaining witness in this in any social media.”
The bail was raised from $250,000 to $350,000 in violation of the restraining orders. Lanez appeared in court and spent five hours in custody before being remanded. After the hearing, he got in his Lamborghini and told Rolling Stone that he felt “amazing” and drove off. The next hearing is scheduled for September.
The episode will air on April 25th, 2022 on CBS Mornings.
