Prince Harry has stepped down from his duties and titles, including Head of Royal Marines. Royal Armed Forces have many positions vacant. Princess Anne, daughter of the Queen of England will fill the vacant position in Royal Navy. She will become the first female to hold the honorary position as Queen herself endorsed her.
Position Of Prince Harry Will Be Filled By Princess Anne
Princess Anne is the only daughter of the Queen. She is all set to officially become the Head of Royal Marines in August. Princess Anne aka Princess Royal already has other titles to her name including Admiral in the Royal Navy, a General in the Army, and Royal Air Force’s Chief Marshall. The talks about the filling of the position have been around since Prince Harry gave up Royal duties and decided to move to the USA.
The role conferred upon her is in tandem with her experience. Princess Royal leads their regiments in total. Admiral Sir Tim Lawerence, a naval officer, is her husband. Her new duties will include communicating with current marines and attending ceremonies. Her experience with the Royal Navy, as per a Senior Royal Marine, makes her a ‘perfect fit.’
Prince William was to assume Prince Harry’s duties. The Duke Of Cambridge refused to take them up so as not to cause any rift between them. There is a need to fill Grenadier Guards, the Irish Rangers, and Yorkshire Regiment positions. Prince Harry and his uncle, Prince Andrew have stepped down from their royal duties.
An American woman, Virginia Giuffre, alleged sexual assault allegations against Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew denied the claims but paid £12 million to settle the case. He was also criticized for an interview where he talked about his friendship with a pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
