Star Wars: Ewan McGregor’s Real Daughter Has A Cameo Scene In “Obi-Wan Kenobi”

It appears like fans are in for an exciting ride based on the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the Disney+. This new Star Wars series has a lot of room to maneuver, thanks to the fact that it will take place over the course of ten years. In the first two episodes of the series, which include a combination of live-action and animated characters, viewers will see the first appearances on television of both some recognizable characters as well as some brand-new ones.

First, in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s second episode, there was a character with pink hair and pink eyes named Tetha Grig, who was a spice runner. Actress Esther Rose McGregor, who also happens to be Ewan McGregor’s real-life daughter, plays the role of the character in the series.

In Obi-Wan Kenobi Esther Rose McGregor plays Tetha Grig, a spice merchant. In episode 2, Obi-Wan is charged with tracking down the future rebel commander Leia Organa, and that’s when viewers first meet princess Leia(played by Vivien Lyra Blair).

On the planet Daiyu, which has been devastated by poverty and corruption, Obi-Wan discovers the kidnapped girl. Prior to meeting Leia, the titular Jedi is contacted by Tetha Grig, who offers to sell him a stimulant called “spice”. He explains that he doesn’t want anybody else to know that he’s looking for his daughter.

Obi-wan asks Tetha, “How about some information? I’m looking for my daughter, she was taken, and she’s on this planet.” “If she’s at Daiyu, she’ll never see you again” Tetha replies. “Nobody leaves here. I, too, was once a child of a parent.” As he continues his search for Leia, she provides him with an unauthorized sample of her products, which he uses in the rescue.

The Interaction Between Obi-Wan And Tetha Is Quite Comical

That Obi-Wan and Tetha’s scene is so ironic and on-the-nose is what makes it so amusing. The Obi-Wan pretext is that he’s searching for his daughter, and when he speaks to Ewan McGregor’s real-life daughter (so I assume he found her!), who answers that she was once someone’s daughter, well, that’s true too. Before they cried “action!” she was Ewan McGregor’s daughter.

With Esther-fantastic Rose’s cameo performance in mind, seeing the scene adds a lot of subtle and contextual comedy to an already terrific sequence.

On Disney+, the first two episodes of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” are currently available to watch.
