Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks’ son said in a video, “I didn’t have a strong male role model to tell me … ‘Bro, f**k these people. They are just jealous of you.”
Chet Hanks, 31, has been in the public eye for battling drug abuse and crack addiction. He went to rehab and is now working towards maintaining the health of his body with sturdy workouts. He is seen posting videos on Instagram of his gym workouts and flexing muscles.
Being Privileged
He talked about how being privileged allows society to judge you as arrogant and entitled. “You have all these things that they want, so they are trying to f***ing throw their shade at you so you can feel sh*tty about yourself because they are jealous.’ I needed to hear that, I didn’t have anyone to tell me that. This is me now telling the younger version of myself what I needed to hear then.”
Strong Exterior
Due to his muscular build and intimidating demeanor, people never confronted him to his face. They talked and gossiped behind his back which was the worst for him. “People kinda did f**k with me a lot growing up. It was never to my face,” he recalled. “It was always behind my back in the forms of gossip and sh*t talking.”
Accepting Privilege Because Of Tom Hanks
“There’s a lot of advantages, but sometimes it can be pretty weird. He accepted, “I got to do a lot of cool sh*t that a lot of people don’t get the opportunity to do.”
“I got to travel the world, stay in nice hotels, fly on private planes, and I’m very blessed for that. I wouldn’t change my situation. My experience was even more complicated because, on top of fame already being toxic, I wasn’t even famous,” he continued. “I was just the son of somebody famous, so I hadn’t even done anything to deserve any sort of recognition, and that created a lot of contempt.”

Tom Hanks’ fans took to social media to express their support and claimed what a quality person he is. “Ummm…. Sir, your father was WHOLE Tom Hanks!!! Are you kidding me?? He wasn’t a strong male role model?? ????????????,” one fan wrote on Twitter while another wrote, “My sister is a personal assistant/nanny. One of the people she always talked fondly of was Tom Hanks and how involved he seemed with his children.”
