The former President, who served in office from 2009 to 2017, now has one more accolade to his name. Barack Obama became the recipient of one of the Creative Emmy Awards. He won his first Emmy in the Outstanding Narrator category, for the narration of the five-part documentary ‘Our Great National Parks‘. But what makes him closer to the EGOT status then? The fact that he has already won two Grammys, one in 2006 and the other in 2008, both in the Spoken Word category. So this means that he needs just an Oscar and a Tony to complete the EGOT status.

At this point, there are more than forty-plus entertainers who are one award away from this “Grand Slam” of American entertainment. This includes superstars like Cher, Kate Winslet, Viola Davis, Common, Helen Mirren, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dick Van Dyke, Lily Tomlin, Harry Belafonte, Elton John, Audra McDonald, and Julie Andrews.
