Since the release of Star Wars: A New Hope (Episode IV) in 1977 the Star Wars Universe has always expanded. It is one of the world’s biggest cinematic universes. Star Wars-related news is always in news. Recently Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, and Deborah Chow, director, have indicated if a Star Wars universe crossover is possible.
Is There A Star Wars Universe Crossover?
As the anticipation for the new Disney+ Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi ramps up following the trailer drop, fans have already started wondering if there is a crossover on the cards.
Characters like Ahsoka Tano (Anakin’s previous Jedi student) and a juvenile Boba Fett both fit within the timeframe of this prequel trilogy, as pointed out by observant fans.
What Did Kathleen And Chow Had To Say About The Star Wars Crossover
Chow and Kennedy did not rule out the potential of a crossing. Kennedy told Entertainment Weekly, “All of the stuff comes inside the Mandalorian era.”
Chow said, “For us, the strongest connecting thread is to the prequels since that’s where our characters come from and where their journeys begin. As a result, the prequels are the ones with the most ties to our series.”
It is still unknown if the crossover between Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi will happen or not. Though there are signs of similar faces to be seen across the universe. Owen Lars, as well as Beru Lars, are played by Joel Edgerton & Bonnie Piesse, respectively. “I was very pleased to bring them back,” Chow said of their reunion.
“We were bringing back not only Ewan and Hayden but others like Joel and Bonnie from 20 years ago and getting to rejoin as the same characters, which made the series seem really special.”
