When we talk about Star Wars, no other destination in its history was as happening and significant as the Tatooine desert. It has been remarkably there since the franchise’s inception, which is A New Hope (1977).  The desert was the home of Luke Skywalker before his journey of becoming a Jedi began. So, the place has seen a lot happen from celluloid to streaming.

In recent years, it was the home base of The Book of Boba Fett. When Jabba the Hutt died, it started Bobba’s supremacy on the land. It is set to return in May 2022 with Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Star Wars makes sure that the fans do not feel disconnected. So, this book is a token to remember this significant location in any part or era of storytelling. Therefore, they have introduced this visual book to keep the fans rooted in the franchise’s history.

At the bottom, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru’s house is behind a pair of Jawas as Luke Skywalker pets R2-D2 on the right-hand side.

Along with this, the book will also deep-dive into Obi-Wan Kenobi’s home, the location where he taught Luke the very first time about Jedi and the Force in 1977’s A New Hope. On the same page, there is an illustration of Luke’s fight with Boba Fett and early stories featuring Darth Vader.

It was a “trip down the memory lane” for the author of Star Wars: Exploring Tatooine, Riley Silverman through the magnificent history of Star Wars. She also expressed that while writing this book, she has developed a greater appreciation for Tatooine in the bigger picture of the universe’s storytelling.

While talking about the experience, she reiterated, “Getting to go on my own little adventure through the tales of Tatooine was amazing. Making my way across the various sprawling landscapes and starting to place familiar characters like Luke Skywalker alongside new favorites like Doctor Aphra, and seeing them come to life through the playful art just really gave me a deeper appreciation for the place this unassuming desert planet has in the grander Star Wars story. I think the book serves as a nice trip down memory lane for long-time fans and as a fun primer for those just taking their first steps.”

Creative Director Clinton Campbell has also called it the company’s honor to interpret such a legacy in its own way. This will surely contribute to the eternity of the Star Wars universe and value of Tatooine. He expressed, “Delving into the world of Tatooine was an incredible journey for us. As Star Wars fans we were thrilled to be a part of the project and at the prospect of immersing ourselves in the intertwined stories of all the characters and places. Bringing everything to life and being able to give our visual interpretation of such an epic franchise was an honor, and we can’t wait for other fans out there to page through this chronicle of Star Wars history.”

Right now, the intricacies involved in the book are not enough for fans to relish the Tatooine. This will change, when the book releases in August 2022. The desert will next appear with Obi-Wan Kenobi which will premiere in May 2022.
