Father Punches Son’s Killer During Court Hearing, Video Goes Viral

Surveillance video at the Orangeburg court hearing captured a grieving father, named Willie Clay Fields, making a beeline for the murderer of his 18-year-old son. The court hearing turned into an event of dismay and chaos, as the father punched the killer.

The video went viral, as netizens could not stop sympathizing with the grieving father, who got into a fit of overwhelming emotions at the sight of the one who took his son away, brutally. The murdered son’s father was holding onto his teary-eyed wife as she was making a statement before Circuit Judge Roger Young before he leaped onto the guilty-pleaded murderer.

How Was The Innocent Son Murdered?

The son of Willie Clay Fields was shot dead by the murderer, punches him in the middle of the court hearing

The 58-years-old Willie Clay Fields was charged with contempt of court and third-degree assault and battery. Fields was heard shouting, “I’m gonna beat your a—, boy!” as he lunged at the 22-year-old murderer, Lindy Lamont Jones.

The distraught father could be seen continuously beating him up until the bailiffs pull him off Jones. Jones pleaded guilty on July 13 to shooting dead of the couple’s 18-year-old son, Willie, in 2019. Jones shot the teenage boy once in the head and three times in the back.

    Willie’s Lawyer Releases A Statement

Willie’s lawyer and a state representative, Justin Bamberg, released a statement on Facebook. The statement talked about how his client was dismayed and overdriven by his emotions. He also added that Willie Clay Fields has apologized to the court for his behavior.

No father should have to bury his innocent son. Mr. Fields is not a criminal. He is a victim of the senseless violence that occurs far too often in our communities. I don’t expect everyone to understand how it must feel to sit there reliving the moment you first found out your son had been murdered for absolutely no reason,” Bamberg said.

Jones’ sentence has been postponed because of the interruption created by Willie. Moreover, Fields was released on a $1,000 bond.
