Eva Longoria Believes ‘Desperate Housewives’ Would Fail In Today’s World
Eva Longoria believes that ‘Desperate Housewives’ would not have been successful if the show was made today. She stated in an Entertainment Tonight interview that ‘cancel culture’ would have shut down the series, but she still loves the show. She added that she misses the role of Gabby and that she aimed to do a lot more than what she did.
She added, “I just remembered pinching myself. I remember reading the script and going, ‘Well, this will never go,’ because it was so different. It wasn’t a comedy and it wasn’t a drama. Nobody knew what we were and when we did the first table read, it was like goosebumps because it was the entire cast and it was the first time we all had met.”
Longoria further stated that the show would have failed today because of the cancel culture. She said that she cannot imagine where the ladies would have been in today’s world.
