One of Netflix’s most popular programs is The Witcher. The first season of the show was so popular that Netflix immediately ordered many spinoffs. The show’s second season proved to be even more successful than the first, proving that their investment paid off. However, it appears like Netflix, rather than playing it safe, is planning for future seasons. Season 3 has not received a release date yet and Season 4 of The Witcher appears to be in the works already.
The Witcher Season 4 Already In Works
Season 3 is presently in full production in England with director Stephen Surjik. It is following a fantastic week of filming in Slovenia, Croatia, and Italy.
Meanwhile, for her episodes of the Netflix hit starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Meng’er Zhang. Director Gandja Monteiro was scouting settings in Wales with cinematographer Dale McCready.
During an interview with Brigade-Radio-One, director Stephen Surjik addressed season 3 and his experience working with Netflix. During the conversation, he also declared that season 4 is already scheduled by The Witcher‘s producers and writers and they “have mapped out season 4” even though Netflix has yet to formally renew the program for a fourth season, the showrunners are optimistic about its return.
The director added, “I don’t know if I’m part of that mapping program, but at least they told me that they’re mapping it out.”
Surjik Described Henry Cavill As “Classy”
Of course, any discussion on The Witcher is incomplete without mentioning Geralt aka Henry Cavill, and the Brigade-Radio-One interview didn’t let us down. Surjik praised Cavill’s commitment to working through the pandemic’s most dangerous phase in 2020 and 2021 during the interview.
He talked about how Cavill is so prepared on set that filming with him just goes more smoothly. Surjik went on to praise Cavill by describing how terrific a guy he is when things go wrong. “When we have people fist fighting at award shows, along comes Cavill,” said the director.
Who Will Return For Season 3 Of The Witcher?
Henry Cavill(Geralt), Freya Allan(Ciri), and Anya Chalotra(Yennefer) will all be back for The Witcher season 3. Fans may also expect to see Vesemir(Kim Bodnia), Lambert(Paul Bullion), and Coen(Yasen Atour) in season 3.
Francesca(Mecia Simson), Filavandrel(Tom Canton), Triss(Anna Shaffer), Tissaia(MyAnna Buring), Dara(Wilson Mbomio), Istredd(Royce Pierson), and Vilgefortz(Mahesh Jadu) will all likely return with other series regulars Jaskier. Codringher(Simon Callow) and Fenn(Lizz Carr) will also return for the third season, according to Hissrich.
Season 3 of The Witcher is now in production and will be completed in August/September 2022. The Series will probably release in Spring 2023.
