8) Leone Leone could have survived the fight with Minister Honest. She got careless and didn't attack his neck from the get-go. As a result, her arms got broken by him and even then she didn't flee and ultimately died.
7) Caesar Caesar died to give Joseph the antidote and Hamon. However, Joseph wasn't near the expiration date of the poison and he didn't even use the Hamon much in the future.
6) Neji Neji's death was a pivotal moment in 'Naruto'. However, he could have saved Naruto without getting killed himself by deflecting the attacks.
5) Asuna Asuna died to protect Kirito from a fatal attack. However, Kirito reached zero health shortly after this. Fortunately, neither of them died permanently, but Asuna's sacrifice was in vain.
4) Mirio Albeit not a death, Mirio's sacrifice of his quirk was in vain. The spears were meant to take away the quirk and had he let Eri be hit, she would have lost the target on her back.
3) Colt Colt, as a human, battled the chimera ants to save his sister. He told her to run away. However, his sacrifice was in vain as his sister was also turned into a chimera ant.
2) Vegeta Vegeta did one completely selfless thing and that was blowing himself up to kill Majin Buu. However, it was completely pointless as Buu survived the explosion.
1) Gin Gin deceived Aizen and made him believe he was on his side. Gin was constantly conspiring against Aizen to land a fatal blow on him. However it was a waste as Aizen recovered from the blow and Gin died.
